The Bible is our instruction manual for life. Some of the instructions are about friendship. It tells what kind of friends to have, how to be a good friend and it tells about the best friend of all. Here are eight Bible verses about friendship.
Bible Verses About Friendship
Proverbs 27:17 – As iron sharpens iron, so one man sharpens another.
Ecclesiastes 4:9-10 – Two are better than one, because they have a good return for their work; If one falls down, his friend can help him up. But pity the man who falls and has no one to help him up!
Proverbs 17:17 – A friend loves at all times, and a brother is born for adversity.
Galatians 6:2 – Bear one another’s burdens, and so fulfill the law of Christ.
1 Thessalonians 5:11 – Therefore encourage one another and build one another up, just as you are doing.
Romans 1:12 – That is, that we may be mutually encouraged by each other’s faith, both yours and mine.
Matthew 18:20 – For where two or three are gathered in my name, there am I among them.
Proverbs 13:20 – Whoever walks with the wise becomes wise, but the companion of fools will suffer harm.
Proverbs 27:5-6 – An open rebuke is better than hidden love! Wounds from a sincere friend are better than many kisses from an enemy.
John 15:13 – Greater Love has no one than this, that he lay down his life for his friends.
My favorite verse about friendship is John 15:13. How awesome is it that Jesus laid down his life for his friends and suffer for us on the cross. Do you have a friend that you would be willing to lay your life down for?
