One of my favorite things to read about in the Bible is God’s unending love for us. There are so many amazing examples of God’s love in the Bible but here are my favorites. Here are eight Bible verses about love.
8 Bible Verses About Love
John 15:13 – Greater love has no one than this: to lay down one’s life for one’s friends.
Romans 5:8 – But God demonstrates his own love for us in this: While we were still sinners, Christ died for us.
Zephaniah 3:17 – The Lord your God is with you, he is mighty to save. He will take great delight in you, he will quiet you with his love, he will rejoice over you with singing.
1 John 3:1 – How great is the love the Father has lavished on us, that we should be called children of God.
Psalm 36:56 – Your love, O Lord, reaches to the heavens, your faithfulness to the skies. Your righteousness is like the mighty mountains, your justice like the great deep.
John 3:16 – For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life.
Psalm 89:2 – I will declare that your love stands firm forever, that you established your faithfulness in heaven itself.
1 Corinthians 13:4-7 – Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. It is not rude, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs. Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth. It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres. Love never fails.
My favorite verse is actually a whole chapter. How amazing is it that there’s a whole chapter called the love chapter. 1 Corinthians 13 has a great blueprint for what love is.
