Are you wearing the right size bra? Do you know how to choose the right bra size? These measuring instructions will help you choose the right bra size.
Many women wear the incorrect bra size and they don’t even realize it. If you face one of these problems then you may have the wrong size bra – bra straps that constantly slip down, a band that hurts you, cups spilling over. An incorrectly fitted bra can ruin even the best of outfits so now’s the time to find your new size.
How to Choose the Right Bra Size
Step 1
You’ll need a flexible measuring tape. If you don’t have one handy you can find one at your local craft supply store or online.
Step 2
Determine your band size. This can be measured while braless or while wearing a non-padded bra. Measure the bottom of the band, directly under your bust. Make sure that the measuring tape is level and snug.
Round your measurement to the nearest whole number. If that number is even, add four or if that number is odd, add five. If you measured 30 then your band size is 34 or if you measured 31 then your band size is 36.
Step 3
Take your bust measurement. Wrap the measuring tape around the fullest part of your chest. The measuring tape should be loose but not slide down. Round this measurement to the nearest whole number and save it for the next step.
Step 4
It’s time to calculate your cup size. Some simple math is required. Subtract your band size (from step 2) from your bust measurement (from step 3). For example 38 inches (bust) – 35 inches (band) = 3 inches. Follow the information below to determine your cup size.
Measurement from Step 4 | Cup Size |
0 | AA |
1 | A |
2 | B |
3 | C |

5 | DD |
