Stop and read it again if you need to. Print it out, tape it to your mirror and your car’s visor, and anywhere else you’ll look on a regular basis.
It’s time to stop comparing yourself to picture perfect models in magazines and actresses on tv. It’s time to stop trying to be something or someone that you aren’t.
Do you let the opinions of other people determine your self-worth and value? Why do you think that you’re not enough?
God created you in his own image. Do you think that God looks in the mirror and thinks that he is not enough? He made you who you are and he knows you inside and out.
I will praise you because I am fearfully and wonderfully made; your works are wonderful, I know that full well. Psalm 139:14
Have you ever looked at the majesty of the ocean, the beauty of a sunset, or a newborn child and thought that’s just not good enough? Normally, we reserve that judgment for ourselves but we are all God’s creation and his works are wonderful.
You can be flawed and have faults. You can be imperfect and make huge mistakes. But you are still enough. Your faults and flaws and imperfections and mistakes do not make you any less. You are enough.
A challenge for you
I’d like to give you a challenge. Just for a day, a whole day, try to picture yourself how God sees you. Picture yourself as a wonderful creation of God, wholly loved and exactly who you are supposed to be. Try it today, what do you have to lose?
