As Darby Dixon sits in a tiny Texas church bathroom on her wedding day holding a positive pregnancy test, she realizes that of all the bad decisions she’s made in her life, marrying her abusive fiancé would be the worst. Read my review of From Here to You by Jamie McGuire.
Book Review: From Here to You
I found Jamie McGuire books last year when I read her Maddox Brothers series. This woman sure knows how to make you fall in love with a character. The Maddox brothers are an amazing family of men who look amazing, fight hard, and love even harder.
If you haven’t read that series I would recommend reading it first. This book has some minor spoilers for that series and it gives you a better insight into some of the men in this book.
This book is about Scott Trexler, “Trex”, who we originally met in Beautiful Redemption. And Darby, the pregnant beauty queen who walks out on her fiance on their wedding day.
I know this book is supposed to be about Darby and her journey but it’s just as much about Trex. The story is told from alternating viewpoints – Darby and Trex.
The book is mostly predictable – I mean once you’ve read a couple of romance novels, you can usually tell how the story is going to go. This was the case with this book as well. For the most part, it was very predictable. But that didn’t make the book less good.
I’m definitely looking forward to reading the next book in this series. McGuire has a way of writing a book you can’t seem to put down.
